Digital Product + Brand Experience System
A guided command centre for independent music careers

Product promise:  Your music career from anywhere

Conceptual product case study for a mobile-first creator platform, connecting release setup, rights submission, promotion, audience signal, and performance tracking into one guided product ecosystem.

Challenge
Independent artists are expected to act as musicians, marketers, rights managers, community managers, and performance analysts — often without label support.
Insight
Artists do not just need another place to post music. They need a trusted operating system for releasing, protecting, promoting, and understanding their work — without losing the time and focus required to make it.
Idea
Indeglo reframes those scattered responsibilities as one guided command centre: a mobile-first system that connects release setup, rights submission, promotion, audience signal, and performance tracking.
Role
Art direction / brand system / UX + UI direction, including product positioning, visual system, mobile interface hierarchy, responsive behaviour, component logic, usability-led refinement, and prototype presentation.
Proof
Guided release workflow · live listener signal · in-flow artist guidance · publish/protect decision point · rights-submission status · responsive product ecosystem · before/after usability refinements

Core Experience Flow
From live signal to measurable release
Ava is an emerging independent artist with music already live. She opens Indeglo to check current listener activity, sets up her next track with guided release tools, publishes the song, and returns to the dashboard as the release becomes trackable.
Prototype Loop
A short mobile walkthrough showing how Indeglo turns listener signal, release tasks, and rights guidance into one connected artist workflow.
Visual System
Expressive enough for music culture. Clear enough for career management.
Indeglo’s visual system balances the atmosphere of an artist-facing music brand with the clarity of a performance dashboard. Luminous blue-purple gradients, album-art moments, live listener cues, and the star-note mark give the product a sense of motion, creativity, and audience energy. Dark interface structure, white space, clear cards, labelled actions, and confirmation states keep release, protection, and tracking tasks readable and controlled.

Brand Foundation
Wordmark, Star-note mark, Colour system, Type

Wordmark and Star-note mark
The wordmark stands alone inside the product UI, while the product promise supports marketing, onboarding, and ecosystem-level communications. The Star-note mark is a flexible brand icon used as both brand signature and product-system cue — suggesting artist recognition, music creation, and forward momentum.

Name Meaning
Indeglo blends “indie,” “indigo,” and “glow” — connecting independent music culture to visibility, momentum, and creative recognition.

Colour System and Type
A luminous blue-to-purple palette gives the product its artist-facing energy while suggesting live digital activity, stage light, and the independent artist’s movement from emerging talent to visible creative presence. Deep navy structure keeps release, rights, and performance tasks clear. Signal Blue supports live activity and active states; Indeglo Purple adds music-culture depth; Dashboard Navy provides focus, contrast, and interface clarity.

The clean sans-serif Inter supports dashboard scanning, form legibility, clear CTAs, and consistent product states.

Creative Direction Decisions
Brand behaviour, usability constraints, and product tradeoffs

Lead with guidance, not complexity
Release, rights, promotion, and performance tasks were organized into a guided sequence so the artist could move forward without confronting the full complexity of the platform at once.

Use live signal as motivation
Real-time listener activity was treated as an actionable entry point, turning dashboard data into a reason to engage with the next release task.

Balance music-culture energy with dashboard clarity
Gradients, album-art moments, and motion cues create artist-facing energy, while cards, labels, CTAs, and confirmation states keep release and rights tasks readable.

Make protection feel reassuring, not overpromised
The rights flow was framed around submission, tracking, and next steps to build confidence without implying instant legal completion.

Build beyond the app screen
The wordmark, star-note icon, colour system, product promise, cards, and signal states were designed to support mobile product use, responsive web, wearable cues, onboarding, and launch communications.

Match each device to a level of attention
Desktop supports overview and planning, mobile carries the core workflow, and watch reduces the system to glanceable signal and status.
Key Product Moments
Signal, guidance, release, and reassurance

Listening Now / live signal

Usability-Led Refinements
Clarifying the moments where confidence matters most
Two informal prototype-review rounds with independent-artist users — three at the early screen-flow stage and six at the polished prototype stage — identified moments where the flow needed clearer signals, stronger guidance, and more reassuring feedback. Refinements focused on the points where uncertainty could interrupt the release flow: live activity, in-flow help, and rights/protection status.

Listening Now made unmistakably actionable
Before: Listener activity was visible and tappable, but could be read as a passive metric.
After: The real-time signal was given a stronger interactive and directional cue (right pointing chevron).
Result: Live audience activity became a clearer action point, so artists could more readily move from dashboard scanning into current audience context.
In-flow guidance made more obvious
Before: Help existed inside the flow, but was too easy to overlook.
After: Guide and info cues were given clearer contrast, scale, and placement.
Result: Artists, even while scanning quickly, could find support without leaving the release path.

Rights status became more credible
Before: The protection message implied too much completion for a complex rights workflow.
After: The copy was reframed around submission, status tracking, and next steps.
Result: The experience reassured the artist without implying instant legal completion.

Responsive Behaviour
One product logic. Different levels of attention.
Indeglo’s responsive system adapts by task depth and keeps the core experience consistent across devices: desktop for overview, mobile for action, and watch for signal.
Launch Expression
First-touch moments for product discovery.
Indeglo’s product language extends beyond the core workflow into first-touch launch moments: mobile onboarding, responsive web, App Store-style previews, and social acquisition. Each expression keeps the same promise — “Your music career from anywhere” — while adapting the message to a different point of entry.

Outcome
Indeglo resolves the independent-artist workflow into a connected product system: live audience signal, guided release setup, in-flow support, rights-submission status, and responsive touchpoints across mobile, web, and watch.
The final system connects brand behaviour, interface hierarchy, product logic, accessibility-aware refinements, and confirmation states to help artists move from release setup to measurable performance with greater clarity and confidence.
